How To Make Poppers More Intense
Poppers come in an increasing number of formulas as of late. Some are indeed naturally stronger than others, but there are ways to push your poppers further and get more bang for your buck. From picking the right formula in the first place, to additions to your bottles, let's take a look at how to make poppers more intense.
Starting off with the right formula
Lets start off with the basics and build on from there. There are three common formulas of poppers; Propyl, Pentyl and Amyl. Propyl poppers are the least intense, with Pentyl and Amyl being somewhat significantly stronger than Propyl. Which one out of these two formulas is actually stronger is down to personal preference, but general opinion is that Amyl is stronger than Pentyl.
Beyond the main three, we have some newer formulas that have come to the market in the last couple of years. n-Pentyl, as the name suggests, is a slightly altered version of Pentyl that hit the market back in 2023. This can be quickly summerised simply as ‘more’ Pentyl. If you enjoy the fast acting effects of Pentyl but want it even stronger, check out n-Pentyl.
We also have Butanol poppers. At the time of writing, these are still relatively new to the market and brands are only just starting to release their own versions of this new formula. As mentioned before, to an extent, strength is subjective, but so far at least consensus appears to agree that Butanol is indeed stronger than both Amyl and Pentyl. This is backed up by our own internal stats and analytics as well. Butanol poppers continue to sell out fast whenever we get more stocks in, and now that some months have passed since its release, we’re seeing positive levels of customers coming back to buy more Butanol after trying it.
The Super Sniffer - Stronger hits
Let’s move onto the exciting stuff now. The augments, additions and and alterations you can make to your existing poppers to truly make them more intense. By far your best option is the Super Sniffer. This piece of poppers-based magic works by concentrating the vapours coming out of your bottle for a significantly stronger hit each time.
Anecdotally, I can take maybe a quarter the amount of hits when using a Super Sniffer to get to my limit, compared to when not using a sniffer. It makes everything that much stronger and speeds up getting fucked up big time.
The Super Sniffer - Fresher for longer
Besides stronger hits, these sniffers have a few other bonus benefits that’re worth speaking about. The screw-on attachment is going to keep your poppers fresher for longer. With less exposure to the open air, this means your poppers will evaporate far less than before. You’ll end up having poppers that not only last longer in general, but stay stronger for longer.
A pain point with poppers that can take me out of the headspace is struggling an embarrassing amount with a child-proof cap. While attached to your bottle, the Super Sniffer’s push-to-trigger button means you’re not constantly having to fiddle around with unscrewing and replacing the cap during a session.
While we couldn’t say the Super Sniffer is ‘spill resistant’, it’s significantly safer to use than an open bottle. Accidentally knock it down for a second mid-use, and you’ll be fine compared to losing half your bottle with an open lid. Honestly this thing has been a life saver for me on multiple occasions.
Poppers with adaptors
If on a budget some poppers come with their own adaptors, which are a great way to test out if you like sniffers. Rush in particular have released their range with these cheap adaptors.
These adaptors only service one purpose, concentrating the vapours from your poppers bottle to create a stronger hit. They won’t however, come with all the fancy bells and whistles of the Super Sniffer mentioned above. We’d recommend replacing the lid on your poppers in between uses if using one adaptor, as your bottle will still be exposed to oxygen otherwise and begin to evaporate and lose potency.
The sippy cup method
Ok, you’ll have to bear with me on this one. Long before Super Sniffers were created to make poppers more intense, we had to get creative. One method people used to use was to take a cotton pad, dab on some poppers and then plop this into a sippy cup and use as you would normal poppers via the spout.
In the modern era, it’s a lot easier to use either a Super Sniffer or one of the adaptors mentioned above, especially if you’d be going out of your way to purchase a sippy cup. But hey, you can’t say I’m not giving you options, if not a little poppers history lesson here.
Power Pellets
Power Pellets used to be a lot more common in the early 2010’s, but have since fallen out of favour for one reason or another. You do still see them occasionally, like in Red Rush poppers, so it’s worth covering them here!
These pellets claim they’ll keep your poppers stronger for longer and carry out their job in two ways. The first is pretty simple. If you’ve ever shaken your bottle before opening them up, the pellet simply helps mix everything together.
The second is where we get a little scientific. These pellets usually contain aluminum oxide. One of the properties of this oxide is that it’ll absorb any moisture that enters the bottle and slow down the normal evaporation process of poppers. So, while not necessarily making your poppers stronger, it does claim to keep them stronger for longer.
So there we have it. If you’re looking to make your poppers more intense, the Super Sniffer is by far the best way of doing this, but you do have other options.
